EddyTech’s inspection systems are superb at detecting surface defects at various stages of the production process. Our products can ensure that drawn wire is free from laps, holes, longitudinal cracks, tension cracks from annealing, damage from transport devices, damage through defective drawing dies, and even small surface defects that can lead to defective end products. Prüftechnik’s comprehensive inspection systems have also proven invaluable to manufacturers of black and bright bar for reliable quality control. The dual inspection strategy provides excellent identification of both longitudinal and transverse defects. These systems can be utilized for production control, monitoring production lines to avoid scrap and providing immediate test results, process feedback and data logging. They can also provide assurance of crack-free wire after the last drawing operation or for final quality checks after straightening, peeling or polishing of the bar.
EddyTech Systems can also provide solutions for billet inspection. The detection of cracks located on the corners of square billets requires special attention due to the corner radius and the characteristics of the billets. Prüftechnik has designed special corner probes that are particularly sensitive to transverse cracks. They are pneumatically suspended in the "Billetchek" coil holder and are able to follow the fluctuations in the billet’s position or twist. Identified defects are marked with a paint marker with four spray guns, one for each corner, which is located behind the Billetchek. |
